Digital Grimoire | Orlando, Florida | UCF Computer Science

Mustapha Strachan

Computer Science Student and Software Engineer

I build practical software across backend systems, AI and machine learning experiments, and interactive applications. I am especially interested in turning complex data and engineering problems into tools people can actually use.

Chapter 01 | About Me

Building useful software from classrooms, labs, and real projects.

I am a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science student at the University of Central Florida with a strong interest in software engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, backend development, and interactive applications.

My work spans C++, C, Python, Java, TypeScript, FastAPI, Next.js, Git, GitHub, Linux, Visual Studio, and VS Code. I enjoy projects where clear architecture, careful data handling, and good collaboration all matter.

Chapter 02 | Experience

Professional journey

Technical contribution, team collaboration, mentorship, and steady growth.

Internship

June 2026 - July 2026

Quickstart SimJam Software Engineering Intern

UCF METIL

  • Worked on a QIF-to-Unity application that converts manufacturing quality data into usable 3D geometry.
  • Helped develop C++ XML parsing functionality using TinyXML2.
  • Worked with OpenCascade geometry and topology structures.
  • Implemented parsing for QIF geometry elements, including points, curves, planes, cylinders, surfaces, and topology references.
  • Used Git and GitHub for team development, branching, debugging, and code integration.
  • Collaborated with developers working on Unity, geometry processing, PMI, and application interfaces.
Mentorship

May 2026 - Present

SOAR Peer Mentor

University of Central Florida

  • Mentor incoming UCF students as they transition into college.
  • Lead student engagement activities and mentoring sessions.
  • Connect students with campus resources and academic support.
  • Communicate with students, faculty, and program staff.
